COPD is a lung disease. It causes problems with breathing. That's because the lungs have trouble pushing "used" air out and there may not be enough room to take in healthy new air.
COPD stands for:
Chronic - long-lasting and doesn't go away
Obstructive- partly blocks the flow of air form the lungs
Pulmonary - has to do with the lungs
Disease - a sickness
