create an emergency plan

If you are managing your asthma effectively, there should be fewer emergencies. That's the benefit of following a daily program— symptoms or not. However, asthma is a serious condition, and it can be life-threatening. So, as a precaution, have an Asthma Action Plan for getting help fast if you need it. Know how to reach your healthcare professional and the fastest way to get emergency care if you need it while at home, work, or on vacation. Make some notes now about steps you should take and numbers you would need. Have an emergency plan—be prepared.

Complete the section below on the screen, or print it out and fill it in. It's important to keep a copy of your personal emergency plan in a handy place.
